The brains of the police organizations. Point of canon to be drawn in: Right after his death. Appearance: He has light brown plain hair, reddish-brown eyes, is pale-skinned and is Japanese. He is 5'10" and weighs 119lbs. Personality: He hates to lose, and always works to win. With his constant wins, his ego is pretty large as well. Smart, cunning, and manipulative, he won't allow anyone to get in his way. Anyone who does must be gotten rid of, as they are getting in god's way. And by 'god,' I mean Light himself. He is stubborn and won't stop at anything until he gets what he wants. He is also afraid of death, as shown by the last chapters of the manga. He is usually trusted and the people around him often believe his lies. Though, some are suspicious of him, and try their best to prove he is Kira. Kira is supported by many people, many innocents. Criminals, however, are often fearful of Kira. He thinks very far into the future and tries to imagine every different possibility for turn of events. Often when simply standing around and/or explaining things, he will let his hand rest on his hip. Usually only one hand, but sometimes two. When interacting with girls, he often shows no interest. He sometimes shows interest in men who can compare to him, but he usually shows no actual loving interest to anyone. He could be described as very narcissist. Abilities: Sorry, he's a normal human being despite being so good at acting and manipulation as well as being extremely smart. He used to have a Death Note and while this was in his possession, he avoided the police expertly, even with L in charge. He knows how to get out of bad situations and can think fast. History: (You ready for this?!) Yagami Light was a serious college-bound student who felt this world was rotting beyond repair. Every day he would here that so-and-so had murdered this woman, or so-and-so had escaped and raped this person. He was growing sick of it all. There needed to be justice! Fear needed to be instilled in these people. Fear that would cause them to never yearn to hurt others again. And then..he found himself in possession of a weapon that was the perfect way to accomplish just this...A notebook of death. Dropped into the human world by a shinigami named Ryuk, the death note could kill anyone who's name was written into it within 40 seconds, of a heart attack. If a heart attack was not preferred, the cause of death could be changed to anything you chose as long as it was plausible and the details of such death was written within 6 minutes and 40 seconds of writing the new cause of death. The original shinigami owner of the notebook had to follow the human around as long as he/she owned it. So, Light found himself with a deadly weapon in his possession and a death god following him around everywhere. The Japanese police were asked by a faceless genius only known as 'L' to help him with the investigation into the 'Kira' case. The bad part about this was that Yagami Light's father was the superintendent of the NPA. Light would simply have to hack into his father's computer to gain any information on the case that he wanted, and then cover his tracks. Though, through this, L eventually figured out Kira had to be among one of the families of the people working on the investigation. He had several FBI agents secretly follow them and see if Kira could be found out. Light was smarter than this, though, and found out the name of the man following him, Raye Penbar. He then had him, as well as all the other FBI agents in Japan, killed, by Raye Penbar's own hand, nonetheless. Raye Penbar's fiance, though, could tell that the death of the drug addict used to figure out Raye's name had to be more than coincidence. She began to investigate into the case herself, which only led to Light talking her into letting him know her name as well and killing her off before she could get the information she planned to tell the NPA to those she needed to get it to. L let the people who were left working on the Kira case see his true face, but kept his name hidden, only to be known as Ryuzaki. The small handful of people began using all their skills to attempt to find Kira. L told Light's father about the high possibility of Kira being a member of his family, and got hidden cameras placed everywhere in their home. Light could tell someone had gone into his room, though, and was ahead of their steps. He acted like he was a normal student in front of the cameras, hiding a small LCD TV in a bag of potato chips and still passing judgement as he pretended to study. He went unnoticed for this time, and the cameras were taken out. L felt that, even so, Light had a possibility of being Kira, and stalked him to his college. Light was accepted, as well as L, with perfect scores on both of their exams. Light pretended to be L's friend and vice-versa, both very suspicious of the other. Eventually, Light was asked to help on the case, and a second Kira introduced themselves. This was Misa, a model who wanted to help Kira best she could, and had gotten a death note from a shinigami named Rem. She found out Light was Kira and asked him to be her boyfriend in exchange for help from her shinigami eyes. She would find out the names of people and tell him, so he could rid himself of the annoyance of L. Light came up with a plan, once Misa was arrested for suspicion of being the second Kira, and had himself put into custody so they could watch him. The deaths stopped, obviously, and suspicion grew, but he had Ryuk take the notebook and discard it, having Light lose all memory of having had it in his possession. Rem then took the notebook to a man who obviously would use it for his own means, and the deaths began again. L eventually let Light and Misa out of custody. They began to investigate into the new deaths, with Light's help. L kept Light and Misa under 24-hour surveillance and they all worked on the case together, Light acting in L's place. Once they found out who it was, they concocted a plan to catch him, and did, but got ahold of the notebook in the process. All of those in the NPA saw Rem and Light gained back his memories. Misa's memories had been restored earlier. Misa's life was threatened by L and so, the Shinigami Rem sacrificed her life to make Misa's longer by killing off Watari and L. L died in Light's arms, seeing who he was and knew he was Kira right before he died. Light covered it up by having everyone search for Rem, finding the notebook himself and keeping it. They put Light in charge, fooled by his guise, and this went on for several years as Kira continued judgement. A New 'L' was put on the case though. Well..more like two. Near and Mello. Mello doing his own investigation with help from the mafia and Near doing an official one with help from police. Mello kidnapped Light's sister and had his father trade out the notebook in their possession to Mello. They sent it off to a deserted area, but Light and crew found him and Light's father made the deal for the shinigami eyes to gain the notebook back and use it to kill Mello. He didn't kill him, though, and died instead. Light was found out by Near, and Near merely had to get proof. Light had a loyal follower named Mikami put in charge of the notebook. He also had an old girlfriend from college who was a loyal follower of his as well put in charge of being spokesperson for him after the death of his other spokesperson. She was the go-between for he and Mikami and they spoke through writing to avoid being caught by bugs. She was kidnapped by Mello, though, and she used the deathnote pages given to her to kill him and then told Mikami to continue judgment. Light killed her...well..he thought.. and went on to meet Near at a specified time and place. This was calculated in Light's head and Near had merely altered a fake notebook. What he didn't know, however, was that Mikami had continued judgment with the real notebook and Giovanni saw this. The whole notebook was replaced in one night, right before their meeting, and Light was then proven to be Kira. He was shot by Matsuda and Ryuk eventually killed him with his own death note. So, people slowly gained their memories of their life before over time and according to their memories their wings would change color depending on how good or bad they were (lighter for good, darker for bad). Several dark-winged people would get bleach in order to hide this fact. Light was one of them.) I heard that some people are getting their wings cut off...How is that working for you? [Private to Self] How dare he? How dare he?! I was creating a new world! He knew this! He knew it was for the better of mankind! But he shot me anyway! That useless idiot! He let his feelings get in the way of the betterment of the world! Sacrifices HAD to be made! Some had to suffer in order to bring about the greater good!Obviously some of those people would be people we don't deserve to suffer! And my father wanted to die at that point! I gave him an opening for a much more honorable death than suicide and he took it! That was his choice! And Ryuk. Urg! That damn shinigami! I knew he would do it but I didn't expect him to do so that soon! I could have continued on if he'd helped me that one time! I could have entertained him for decades! But, no. He....He... Damn. I need more bleach. [/Private] Sample role-playing post: (This sample is from an application made for an after-death jail-themed game.) He wished for silence. The silence that came with privacy....The privacy of his own room. Well, preferably, the privacy of his own room when Misa was not around. This was not privacy. He hated everyone being able to see into his 'room' that was nearby enough to do so. The hungry looks he often got, as if he were just a piece of meat for whatever use they were thinking of, really raked at his nerves. He was Kira! He was GOD! How DARE they look at him like that! If he had his Death Note, he'd make sure to get rid of all of them! And with how he had seemed to be reborn earlier, the eye deal seemed a bit more possible. Besides, if you were immortal, why would you have to worry about half of your lifespan going to the shinigami? However, this got him to wondering. If you were immortal, would the shinigami get an infinite amount of years or would it be judged on how much time you had left until the next time you died and were reborn in this world? Would you have to make the eye deal every time you were reborn? And what if he really was dead? Would that mean the shinigami would get no years and you, therefore, would have no years taken off? One would have to get a supremely bored shinigami for that. Outside of Ryuk...just who of the shinigami would get bored enough to do such a thing? Either way, until a Death Note showed up, thinking about this was pointless. Only something to preoccupy the mind to keep it from pure insanity, as he knew he would get to that point from just sitting in a cell for who knows how long? He knew he'd go insane if he stayed in this place much longer. Several of the inmates highly lacked in manners. He thought he'd gotten away from, at least, bad table manners once L died (and if he avoided Matsuda during the lunch and supper breaks). On the matter of L...He was here. He'd seen him briefly while out of his cell. This definitely had to be Hell. If he was put in here with that little beast of a psychotic, paranoid, possibly-autistic man, then he would definitely fall off the edge of sanity quite soon. No....He should stay calm. Find a way out of this. This was just a game....A game to be conquered over and defeated...with whatever means necessary. He smirked. Yes...he'd find a way...He'd find a way to get out of here.... And so, as the door to his cell opened, he simply saw it as a new challenge only begging to be taken. QUESTIONS/CONCERNS? None, I dun think...if anything comes up, I'll tell you.
